CMA-CGM’s APL is introducing a new service that will cut transit times from Shanghai to LA to 11 days. That follows a similar move in its Asia-South America services as a response to falling volumes on those lanes. Shipments into LA improved, but by just 6% for all carriers in the 12 months to February 28, while those to LA and Long Beach combined rose 10%.
