Copper miner Vedanta faces an Indian court case following the closure of its Tuticorin smelter on pollution allegations. The shutdown may cut its Indian export business which had expanded by 28% in the first quarter of 2018 on a year earlier to reach $2.2 billion in the past 12 months. Copper accounted for 59% of the total after a 38% growth in the first quarter.
