South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Paik Un-gyu, will hold talks with his American counterparts on June 27 regarding the U.S. section 232 review of the autos industry. While the recently completed KORUS negotiations covered U.S. market access to South Korea, Minister Paik will be keen to protect South Korea’s exports of cars to the U.S. These were worth $14 billion in the past 12 months or 20% of all South Korean exports to America.
