American business sentiment towards international trade remained positive, but less so, in the latest ISM survey with export expectations at 55.3% (50% or more indicates expansion) being the lowest since October while import expectations fell to 54.7%. The widening tariff dispute between the U.S. and China as well as earlier duties on metals are taking their tolls.
