The full details of NAFTA enhancements agreed by the U.S. and Mexico have yet to be announced, though one element in the all-important automotive sector may be a pre-agreed quota for Mexican auto exports to avoid America’s section 232 duties. One potential positive is that the reported cap of 2.4 million vehicles per year is well below Mexico’s 1.9 million shipments in the 12 months to June 30.
