Liquefied natural gas project developer LNG Ltd has delayed a final investment decision on its Magnolia export project at Lake Charles, LA. CEO Gregory Vesey has indicated “trade issues with the Chinese market” have had an impact on discussions with potential customers in China. The Chinese government applied 10% duties on U.S. LNG exports in September and will likely raise them to 25% in January. In total China imported $22.54 billion of liquefied natural gas in the 12 months to Sept. 30 vs. $39.69 billion for Japan and $15.09 billion for South Korea. S&P Global Platts estimates...
