The Jacksonville Port Authority (Jaxport) and Carrix Inc.’s SSA Marine have signed a $238.7 million, 25 year deal to expand the Florida port’s facilities. That followed a 38.8% rise in containerized freight handling in 2018 versus 2015 and demonstrates the significant expense and extended timeframes involved in port developments.
