South Korea’s trade downturn entered a fourth month in March after bilateral trade in goods fell 7.5% year over year in March. Exports fell 8.2% compared to 8.7% in the first two months of the year while imports fell 6.6%. The electronics sector has been the main driver of South Korea’s trade deceleration. Semiconductor exports dropped 16.6% year over year in March, with exporters apparently unable to capitalize on China’s reduced exports due to U.S. tariffs.
