Container handling at California’s big three ports of Long Beach, Los Angeles and Oakland increased by 5.3% year over year in March, following a 5.6% drop in February. The improvement was largely down to a 16.8% surge in empty containers while – concerningly for the Californian economy – exports fell for a fourth straight month.
