The U.S. government has removed preferential tariff rates for imports from Cameroon due to that country’s “persistent gross violations of internationally recognized human rights”. The African Growth and Opportunities Act may have helped the 30.4% year over year surge in imports to the U.S. from Cameroon in the 12 months to Aug. 31.
