Hapag-Lloyd Hits the Right Routes in 3Q, Suffers Slowdown in October

Hapag-Lloyd reported revenue growth of 6.2% in 3Q, which was well ahead of analysts’ expectations. That was largely the result of the container-line having traded off lower volumes for higher achieved shipping rates. Looking ahead the firm expects no growth in volumes in 2019 due to a “general deterioration of the global economic climate, in particular due to geopolitical uncertainties”.
