India’s international trade activity continued to decline in November, with an 8.1% year over year slide being the sixth consecutive reduction. That was largely down to a slump in commodity imports which dragged total imports down 12.7%. Exports continued to slide, though a 0.3% reduction was the smallest since July. The slow development of trade activity has been due, in part, to a protectionist trade policy best exemplified by the “Make in India” import tariff policy.
