Petronet LNG may sign a $2.5 billion investment in Tellurian’s Driftwood liquefied natural gas facility in the U.S. when President Trump visits India in February. That will likely be part of several commercial deals to be signed, while a comprehensive trade deal looks unlikely. India only represented 6.7% of U.S. LNG exports in the 12 months to Nov. 30. In the near term supplies may be squeezed out by purchases by Chinese buyers responding to the phase 1 trade deal between the U.S. and China.
