The Chinese government has cut tariffs on imports of 65 products from the U.S. which were worth $5.0 billion in 2019. The largest product lines were medical devices and related equipment worth $2.26 billion with other products including hydraulic machinery, wood and books. The reductions serve the dual purposes of fulfilling phase 1 trade deal commitments as well as managing healthcare costs during the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
