The port of Baltimore closed on Mar. 5 and will do so again on Mar. 17 due to a shortage of inbound shipments from Asia linked to the coronavirus-outbreak. That follows warnings from Los Angeles and New York about similar reductions in traffic. Seaborne imports to Baltimore fell by 3.8% in January and February combined compared to a year earlier, though there was a 12.5% surge in shipments from China.
