The latest round of EU-U.K. talks to formulate a long-term trade agreement have proven to be “disappointing” according to European Commission negotiator Michel Barnier. The U.K. side has indicated dissatisfaction with the EU’s “ideological approach”. Disagreements persist regarding the regulatory level playing field, access to fisheries and dispute settlement.
