The U.S. government is starting a probe into fertilizer subsidies provided by Morocco and Russia. U.S. seaborne imports from the two countries increased by 26.3% year over year in Q2’20, while imports from USMCA countries and others fell by 38.4% and 31.9% respectively. That growth may have been what triggered the petition, as Morocco and Russia are the second largest importers outside of North America.
