The U.S. Trade Representative has issued its final rulings on requests for exemptions from section 301, list 4A tariffs on imports from China. Leniency has proven rare. The rate of approvals for all list 4A products reached 6.1% compared to 4.9% for list 3. Both are centered on consumer goods and were much lower than the rates for the industrial focused lists 1 and 2 of 33.8% and 34.7% respectively.
