Matson has reported Q3 figures that include a 125% year over year surge in the container line’s China-to-U.S. service volumes. That follows the addition of a new, expedited service that has arrived just as post-pandemic exports from China have climbed. Total U.S. seaborne imports from Chinese ports reached a record 1.176 million TEUs in September after 20.3% year over year growth for the month. That brought the Q3 total to a 14.6% expansion.
