A late surge in toy imports to the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have left the ports “essentially in a triage situation” according to Port of Los Angeles ED Gene Seroka. Imports of toys to Long Beach have surged by 31.3% year over year in the three months to Nov. 30 while those shipped to LA rose by a more modest 1.6%. Failure to complete onward deliveries in a timely manner could lead importers to permanently review their supply chain logistics choices.
