Top Glove, Hartalega’s Malaysian shutdown leaves U.S. more reliant on China

Top Glove has had to close its factories in Klang, Malaysia. While the government has allowed factories, including those of Top Glove’s competitor Hartalega, to remain open the restriction on movement of staff has meant capacity is curtailed. The closure may have a significant impact on Top Glove’s shipments to the U.S. given they accounted for 85.7% of the total in Q2’21.
