The State Bank of Vietnam has agreed with the U.S. Treasury that the former “will continue to improve exchange rate flexibility over time”. That addresses U.S. concerns about alleged currency manipulation to support exports and reduces the risk of tariffs being applied after a section 301 investigation of the matter.
